Caves

Spend a day visiting the local caves.

  1. Jewel Cave - located near Cape Hamelin. This recent discovery offers guided adventure tours.
  2. Mammoth Cave - a 15 minute drive South down Caves Rd takes you there.
  3. Lake Cave - this guided cave with cafe is only 4 kms South of Mammoth Cave.
  4. Open only on school holidays and long weekends.
  5. Ngilgi Cave - located near Yallingup.
  6. Caveworks - interpretive centre for the caves in the Cape-Naturaliste region.

Wineries

Tour the WA wineries that produce some of the world’s best wines.

  1. Brookland Valley Estate - a 15 minute drive North from Margaret River town to this wonderful winery.
  2. Xanadu - a short drive south of town.
  3. Cullens - just past Gracetown North from Margaret River along Caves Rd.
  4. Voyager Estate - along Stevens Rd near Leeuwin Estate.
  5. Vasse Felix - located on the corner of Harmans Road South & Caves Road, Cowaramup.
  6. Leeuwin Estate - home of the annual Leeuwin Estate Concert with famous International artists.
  7. Watershed - visit their gourmet cafe and restaurant, Cnr Bussell Highway & Darch Road, Margaret River.
  8. Palandri - a short drive North along Bussell Highway, near Cowaramup.
  9. Driftwood Estate - 20 minutes North along Caves Rd.
  10. Amberley Estate - near Yallingup along Wildwood Rd.
  11. Clairault - found along Caves Rd, Wilyabrup.

  1. Boranup Maze - great for morning tea, picnics and letting the kids burn up some energy in a safe environment.

  4. Rotary Park - a picture perfect picnic spot complete with playground, historical museum and kangaroos.

Beaches and Bays

  1. Hamelin Bay - an 8km beach located off Caves Road. Great for snorkeling.
  2. Granny Pool - a great sheltered rock pool for a private and relaxing swim.
  3. Meelup Beach - a great swimming spot near Dunsborough.
  4. Gnarabup Beach - 5 minutes walk from your Ocean Break Beach House with cafe and boat ramp.
  5. Contos Beach - Scenic beach with crystal blue water and a freshwater spring.

  1. Main Break - world renowned surf spot at Surfers Point.
  2. Bombie - just off Gnarabup Beach.
  3. Boodjidup - near Gas Bay.
  4. Rivermouth - located at the end of Rivermouth Rd.
  5. The Womb - at the end of Ellenbrook Rd.
  6. The Box - just south of The Womb. Not for the faint-hearted.

  1. Augusta - after a scenic drive down Caves Rd and Bussell Hwy, this town has so much to offer. Don’t miss lunch at the hotel with wonderful views over the river and ocean.

  3. Cape to Cape Walk - a long but rewarding hike from Cape Naturaliste to Cape Leeuwin.
  4. Berry Farm - take the family along Bussell Hwy during berry season for afternoon tea and berry picking.
  5. Bellview Shell Museum - visit this wonderful collection of amazing shell displays.
  6. Simmo’s Ice-Cream - a local Margaret River ice-cream company, famous for inventive flavours.
